Tradeshow industry Epsilon is not the company with the data breach

Epsilon Registration, a provider of meeting registration technology and services, recently released a statement about the data breach that has been in headlines across the country.

In a nut shell, the tradeshow company is not the one with the data breach.

“We want to reassure our clients and their members, customers and constituents that their data is safe with us,” said Pornwadee Karow, managing member of Epsilon Registration. “We don’t even store sensitive data such as credit card numbers or social security numbers in our database.”

Recently, there has been a lot of news about a data breach for a company called Epsilon Data Management, LLC, a large e-mail marketing company. Headlines have included “Epsilon hack: 50 companies hit by data breach” and “Epsilon Data Breach Hits Banks, Retail Giants.”

Although the names are similar, Epsilon Registration is not the same company as Epsilon Data Management. No relationship exists between the companies. Epsilon Registration has many layers of security, none of which have been breached.
