The company’s tagline is “totally modular, totally modern…totally MOD.”
Indeed, to the average outsider looking in, Totally MOD Event Furnishings has a success story or two to share.
In business since 1996, the company, which specializes in providing rental furniture and charging stations for meetings and tradeshows, has three core principles under founder and owner Bill Whidden: innovate, partner and service.
Innovation is certainly a key to the success and strength of this company, which has offices in both Las Vegas and Orlando.
Totally MOD was first to patent the ice sculpture made with flexible molds. The company was also the first to design and introduce a battery-operated, wireless LED lighting system to the special events industry.
Company officials lay claim that it is again, first, at offering a modular soft-seating collection. The collection was on display at their 10 x 20 booth at EXHIBITOR 2014, held in Las Vegas in March 2014. During the show, the company was recognized with an award for “Best Booth Staff.”
Chris Esposito, vice president, Totally MOD, relished in the recognition and was proud of the service Totally MOD provides.
“We stand out by having unique products and good staff. We’re very much all about the people we serve,” said Esposito.
One trend that is becoming more popular among tradeshows is the availability of charging stations. Exhibitors are increasingly relying on equipping their booth space with lounges.
Found among lounge furniture are charging stations at which attendees can stop on by, plug in and recharge their mobile devices.
Far from the old days of what used to be Web and email stations in the corner of tradeshow floors, the trend has become as popular as promotional giveaways at tradeshows.
Totally MOD’s modular furniture provides built-in charging capabilities for Apple and Android products.
“We are trying to fill a niche in a number of ways; we provide a variety of colors. And we manufacture the furniture, which is only available thru Totally MOD,” said Esposito, adding that exhibitors can take advantage of a branding capability.
“If you brand a piece of furniture, you will own that piece of furniture,” added Esposito.
The company stood true to its word on innovation during EXHIBITOR 2014 in demonstrating a free-standing charging locker for mobile devices.
A user can enter a unique password on the device, insert multiple mobile devices, attach the charging cord, lock the unit and when they return, their devices will be charged.
“This is a brand new product with enormous response. Our clients have been asking for something like this and this solves that problem,” said Esposito. “We have several units already built and we’ll be putting more into production.”
Totally MOD values its service and innovation and its commitment to the industry.
