TCEB contest highlights 5 MICE destinations in Thailand

From October to December, professionals and bloggers worldwide participated in the “Thailand MICE Destination Review Competition,” an online contest showcasing the capability and readiness of five Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) cities in Thailand.

Organized by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the country’s official tourism and meetings promotion agency, contest finalists competed to win a one-week educational trip to one of Thailand’s top five MICE cities.

TCEB’s judging criteria, which is based on working or blogging experience plus knowledge about the MICE industry, determined the five finalists:

  • For Bangkok: Robert Schrader from the U.S.
  • For Chiang Mai: Stephanie Selesnick from the U.S.
  • For Khon Kaen: Nguyen Hoang from Vietnam
  • For Pattaya: Siow Ying Lee from Singapore
  • For Phuket: Victoria Philpott from the UK.

To win the competition, the finalists will inspect their particular MICE cities and write posts and blogs about these destinations and their facilities. They will then share their experiences through blogs and other social media from Jan. 19, 2014 to Feb. 25, 2014.

The finalist with an inspiring blog that receives the highest views will win $5,000 (U.S. dollars), and the finalist with the best blog content will win $3,000 (USD).
