Stylus manufacturer goes with “out of the box” theme for CES booth design

Maintaining a purpose-built design was the impetus behind Adonit’s functional booth at International CES in Las Vegas.

The Austin, Texas-based company, which manufactures hand-held styluses for tablet computers, featured a 20×30 booth of its own design.

Anchoring its booth was an all-black modified shipping container being used as a lounge and office area.

Ryan Mahan, senior industrial designer, Adonit, shared that the team wanted something “totally out of the box” when it came to a booth design. This is Adonit’s third year of exhibiting at CES.

“Our booth has an evolving design, with modular parts, different pieces. It was purpose-built. We wanted something fully assembled where we could roll it in and roll it out,” said Mahan.

Mahan added that he specifically wanted to break away from any sort of modular design by using a team of in-house industrial designers to create something exclusively for CES.

“We’ve used our booth to put our products front and center and to elevate and highlight our products as much as possible,” added Mahan.

Unlike other companies exhibiting at CES, Adonit had no special product announcements this year; however, its booth location in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s North Hall on an intersecting walkway, “provided for a more immersive experience.”
