Stuttgart Region and Stuttgart Convention Bureau Hosts Germany’s Biggest Incentive

In the course of a five-day trip through South Germany, 2,700 employees of the company Jeunesse Greater China visited not only Frankfurt and Munich in May, but also came to the Stuttgart Region, known for its strong economy and tourist attractions. The focus of the incentive trip was on history and shopping. Under the motto “One Team, One Vision – One Jeunesse” the Jeunesse Company, which sells lifestyle products such as cosmetics and dietary supplements, sponsored this trip for its 2,700 most successful sales staff in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In Stuttgart, the Mercedes-Benz Museum (at right), which is normally closed on Mondays, opened its doors exclusively to welcome the group.

The Stuttgart Convention Bureau assisted the planning process of the organizing agency in Taiwan. The success of the operation proves that the Stuttgart Region is ideal for inclusion in incentive trips to Germany and can provide unique experiences not to be found elsewhere.

The Stuttgart Region: inventive genius and innovative strength

The purpose of the trip, in addition to spending time together, was also to promote team spirit among the employees. The Chinese love the Mercedes-Benz brand and are enthusiastic about history and tradition. True to the slogan “No future without a past,” Jeunesse has also come to recognize that future projects can only be shaped successfully when they encompass past achievements, corporate history and the provenance of the products. Inventive genius and innovative strength were therefore at the hub of the visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

“Taking part in this trip is quite unique. The Museum exudes so much entrepreneurial spirit, and it’s amazing to experience the history behind Mercedes-Benz. I’m absolutely thrilled,” said an enthusiastic Chinese lady after her tour of the exhibition. As a special highlight, a “meet and greet” session was arranged with Jutta Benz, a great-granddaughter of Carl Benz and ambassador for the brand – autographs and photos included. Armin Dellnitz, Head of Tourism in the Stuttgart Region, also personally welcomed the group at the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

The next stop on the journey was Metzingen, some 30 km from Stuttgart, which is well known as a center of the textile industry and home of the Hugo Boss brand. Prize-winning architecture defines the elegant cityscape of the Outletcity Metzingen and harmonizes perfectly with the traditional Swabian, half-timbered buildings in the historical town center. The huge range of fashion and lifestyle products guaranteed the visitors a fascinating shopping experience at attractive prices. The power shopping luxury experience was the result of a logistic masterpiece: the Outletcity Metzingen was decorated in the colors of the Chinese company as a sign of esteem, parking space was arranged for 70 buses, and additional catering capacity was organized in the form of various food trucks, in order to ensure that everything went smoothly as regards food. A team of more than 60 extra staff from the Outletcity Metzingen – including many Chinese-speaking colleagues – paired with an effective orientation system made sure that all of the guests found their bearings and felt at ease.
