Smart City Networks hires digital marketing manager

Smart City Networks, the nation’s largest provider of event telecommunications and technology services for the conventions industry, hired a manager of digital marketing. Mark Thompson will be based in Orlando, Fla. at the Orange County Convention Center.

In his new role at Smart City, Thompson is responsible for cultivating new clients and fostering relationships to drive continued growth in the company’s digital signage segment. Digital signage plays an integral role in Smart City’s vision for the present and future. From custom video and LED walls, to interactive displays and meeting room signage, Smart City emphasizes vivid digital content rather than traditional static signage at venues across the nation.

Thompson leads a dedicated digital marketing team, leveraging his creative and marketing experience in support of strategic business development activities. He offers more than 10 years of industry experience in marketing, sales and business development, in addition to past experience in the audio-visual sector. Prior to joining Smart City, he worked as an account executive for LMG, Inc. at the Orange County Convention Center. He also previously served as the manager of client operations for FedEx Office at the Orlando-based convention center.

“Mark is an exceptional addition to Smart City’s digital marketing and signage team,” said Tim Wortman, vice president, east operations, Smart City Networks. “He is a respected industry veteran with a solid background of customer service, and he will serve as a valuable asset to our clients across the nation.”
