Shepard applauds scholarship recipient

Shepard Exposition Services congratulates Jeremy House, the first recipient of the Jimmie Dee Fore Endowment Scholarship.

Founded by friends and colleagues, the scholarship was established in tribute to tradeshow industry legend, Jimmie Dee Fore, and it recognizes outstanding students pursuing careers in the hospitality industry through University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Management. Shepard has been a proud supporter of this scholarship fund since 2012.

“Congratulations to Jeremy House, this is a well-deserved award,” stated Carl Mitchel, CEO, Shepard. “We can’t think of a better way to honor Jimmie than by investing in the future of our industry. Jeremy House is a bright student, and we look forward to seeing him grow in his career.”

House was selected on the basis of academic merit and his dedication to the events industry. He began his college career at the age of 16 and by 18 had completed an associate degree in Arts and Sciences from Everett Community College. He is currently enrolled at University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management, studying lodging with an interest in venue and exhibition management. He is expected to graduate in 2016.

Over the past five years, Shepard has contributed $25,000 to the scholarship fund as part of an ongoing commitment to invest in hospitality education.

The scholarship fund is currently valued at $83,000, and contributions are welcome. For additional information on how to contribute, contact Miguel J. Cabrera, director of development, with Conrad N. Hilton College at mcabrera3@uh.edu. Shepard will continue to support this fund and invest in future generations of the hospitality industry.
