Right team, right time for Anaheim/OC CVB

Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau (AOCVCB) made changes to its senior leadership team and supporting management. These changes were designed to continue the restructuring of Anaheim into a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) of the future.

Following two years of monumental growth and significant staffing changes, including three new executive team staff members, AOCVCB is poised to continue working toward an organization defined by market-leading services and programming, innovative technological solutions and distinguished consumer engagement.

“Every move we make and shift, we put into effect in our staffing structure has one singular goal in mind – and that is to become the leading Destination Marketing Organization of the future,” said Jay Burress, president & CEO, AOCVCB. “After going through a transition period, we have the right team in place to make this happen.’”

Harriet Porter has been promoted to vice president, convention sales and oversees convention and city-wide sales for Anaheim Convention Center.

Christina Dawson has taken on a new role as vice president, operations, overseeing AOCVCB’s administrative and finance teams.

Colleen Cornett, CMP, is moving into a new role as director of partnership development. In addition to partnership development responsibilities, Cornett will continue to oversee Housing.

Steve Rathje will be transitioning to build a business intelligence team within the marketing department.

The recent staffing changes follow two years of vast change at AOCVCB, which began with the appointment of Jay Burress. Within the last year, Burress has brought in a new senior executive team to instill and execute his vision of becoming the Destination Marketing Organization of the future which included the hiring of Junior Tauvaa, senior vice president, sales & services; Charles Harris, senior vice president of marketing; and the reappointment of Mindy Abel, a 21-year AOCVCB veteran as senior vice president, strategy & development.
