Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) in Reno, Nev., the largest resort and gaming destination in the Pacific Northwest, and The Meruelo Group announced the addition of a vice president of sales, conventions and meetings.
With more than 15 years of experience in developing, leading and executing strategic plans for multiple properties across the country, Jessica Baran will lead GSR’s sales team, convention services and catering.
“Jessica is a tremendously talented leader with a proven track record of strategic planning and a reputation for providing quality customer service as well as creating a positive and collaborative culture throughout the properties she’s worked for,” said Tracy Mimno, general manager, GSR. “We are very pleased to have her join our team as we continue to create a world-class resort destination for travelers and convention-goers alike.”
Baran’s experience includes a long list of luxury global brands from around the U.S., including the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, The Venetian Resort Hotels Casino, Kerzner International’s Atlantis Resort Casino and MGM Grand and Foxwoods Resort Hotels Casino.
She graduated with a bachelor’s in Hotel, Restaurants and Institutional Management from the University of Delaware and also attended the Swiss School of Hospitality in Chur, Switzerland. Further, Baran is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association, Meeting Professionals International and Financial and Insurance Conference Planners.
