The all-glass construction of Itchimbia Park and Cultural Center serves as Quito’s scenic events center.

Quito previously won in that category in the 2013 and 2014. It also hosted the awards’ Latin America edition in 2014, which took place in Itchimbía Cultural Center.

“Our third consecutive nomination as a ‘Leading Destination’ in addition to the Conference and Events and Vacation Destination nomination reaffirm Quito’s position as a world-class destination able to provide all the wants and needs of meeting planners and vacationers alike,” said Luz Elena Coloma, general manager, Quito Turismo.

Considered the “Oscars” of the tourism industry, the 2015 gala will be celebrating its 22nd anniversary in Latin America, to be held in October in Colombia. Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards recognizes and rewards excellence in all sectors of the tourism industry. More than 650,000 individual votes were cast by travel professionals and consumers last year.

Votes may be submitted before June 28 at worldtravelawards.com/vote-for-quito-2015.
