Philadelphia CVB renews Destination Marketing Accreditation

The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) announced Oct. 20 that it has received accreditation renewal from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP). PHLCVB

In maintaining DMAP accreditation, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) communicate to their community, buyers and potential visitors that their organization has continued to demonstrate a significant measure of excellence in destination management and marketing.

“The PHLCVB is honored to receive the Destination Marketing Accreditation Renewal from DMAP,” said Jack Ferguson, president and CEO, PHLCVB. “Philadelphia’s continued growth as a destination for international visitors is the result of the PHLCVB’s strategic partnerships with key players such as Mayor Michael Nutter and international attractions like the Philadelphia Orchestra. The success of these efforts becomes apparent in acknowledgments such as DMAP accreditation and Philadelphia’s recognition as the 13th most visited American city.”

DMAP is an independent international accreditation program developed by the Washington, D.C.-based Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI).

“By successfully renewing their DMAP accreditation, the PHLCVB has maintained their commitment to quality programs and services,” said Jack Wert, DMAP Board Chair. “DMAP accreditation communicates to Philadelphia’s community stakeholders and potential visitors that PHLCVB has attained a measure of excellence, assuring that their trust is well placed and their business is in good hands.”

PHLCVB, a private non-profit membership corporation, is the official Tourism Promotion Agency for the City of Philadelphia globally, and the primary sales and marketing agency for the expanded Pennsylvania Convention Center.
