PMMI, the owner and producer of the PACK EXPO tradeshows, recently announced PACK EXPO East, a new regional event coming to Philadelphia in February 2015. PMMI will stage the event at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
“There’s a real need in the market for first-class events that are a bit closer to home,” said Rick Fox Jr., president, Fox IV Technologies, who chairs PMMI’s Board of Directors. “About 18 months ago, PMMI commissioned Westat, a leading research firm, to reach out to customers about the need for a regional event, and if they would support one. The results were extremely positive.”
PMMI expects to draw attendees from a range of critical market segments including food, beverage, personal care, electronics and pharmaceutical and medical devices.
“Philadelphia is within easy driving distance of 40 percent of the U.S. population, and that area includes large consumer goods companies, industrial manufacturers and a huge life sciences community,” said Fox. “PACK EXPO East is positioned well to help brand owners find the solutions they need, a bit closer to home.”
The announcement of PACK EXPO East follows the successful launch of EXPO PACK Guadalajara, the latest event in the PACK EXPO family of shows. EXPO PACK Guadalajara attracted more than 10,000 visitors, a level of success that spurred exhibitors to reserve 68 percent of the available space for the 2015 edition. With booth space in such high demand, PMMI had to change the dates for the EXPO PACK Guadalajara to make more space available to exhibiting companies.
“We had more than three times as many buyers in attendance than what we projected when we announced the show last June,” said Charles D. Yuska, president and CEO, PMMI. “EXPO PACK Guadalajara clearly met market demand.”
The 300-plus exhibitors at EXPO PACK Guadalajara accounted for more than 34,500 net square feet of exhibit space.
Space sales for PACK EXPO East 2015 will open during PACK EXPO Las Vegas, which will be held from Sept. 23–25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
