Owensboro Convention Center welcomes executive chef

Global Spectrum, a venue management company, welcomed an award-winning chef to the Owensboro Convention Center family

Joining the facility as the executive chef is Kyle Kellogg, who is very experienced in the culinary arts. He previously served as chef at Lure, a restaurant in downtown Owensboro, Ky.

“We are happy to have Chef Kyle and his outstanding culinary abilities join our team. His experience has already proven to be invaluable to the convention center, and we are excited for the future,” stated Dean Dennis, general manager, Owensboro Convention Center, Global Spectrum.

Kellogg also worked at the Famous Bistro for more than two years. Before moving to Owensboro, he was the chef at the Evansville Country Club for four years and worked as the chef at a restaurant called Madeleine’s in Evansville, Ind.

“Kyle has many great ideas, and his experience has been very beneficial. We are looking forward to many exciting new menu changes,” said Mark Pruett, director of Food & Beverage, Owensboro Convention Center.

Kellogg earned several honors throughout his career. This includes winning the Sponsor’s Choice Award and the People’s Choice Award at the Steel Chef event in Evansville. He also won the Performance Food Group Chef Cook Off in Nashville, Tenn. in 2013 and has been invited to participate again this year.

“I am really honored to come on board during this time of growth and opportunity in Owensboro,” Kellogg expressed his excitement.

Kellogg attended Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, N.C. where he received his degree in Advanced Standing Culinary Arts in 2005. He is a native of Savannah, Ga., and is a member of the American Culinary Federation. In his free time, Kellogg enjoys listening to music, creating art and reading.
