Orbus anticipates summer opening of Ill. facility

Orbus Exhibit & Display Group, a leading trade supplier of display, exhibit and event solutions, announced an update on the construction of the company’s new 350,000 square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Woodridge, Ill. The company held a groundbreaking ceremony on Sept. 23, 2013, to kick-off the construction of the new building and anticipates its completion in late June 2014. The new facility will provide a consolidated space for Orbus’ Illinois-based manufacturing and production operations, currently housed in Bolingbrook and Niles, Ill. Since September of last year, the custom-built 350,000 square-foot facility has seen rapid progress, recently reaching the point where drywall and paint were up in the majority of the office space. Production areas have framing complete and the concrete floor in the warehouse has been poured with shelving added, ready for the next step of adding products.

Over the next two weeks, final steps within the building, such as lighting, doors, carpeting and wayfinding signage, are being installed. Orbus anticipates having the keys to the completed building at the end of June, with the coordinated move commencing that month. During the first week of May, Orbus will host employees from the Bolingbrook and Niles locations for open houses, to preview and become familiar with the new facility. Once the Bolingbrook and Niles facilities have moved into the building, Orbus looks forward to creating a unified corporate culture and further streamlining its production and distribution efforts.
