ML International Expo Logistics adds VP of business development

ML International Expo Logistics, an Illinois-based freight forwarder specializing in shipping to tradeshows, brought on a new vice president of business development.

Working remotely from Boulder City, Nev., John Chadwick’s duties aren’t that different from being at an onsite office.  He develops domestic and international exhibition freight business for the company. He also works with current agents, adding new ones where necessary to grow the business.

His position at ML International Expo Logistics reunites him with President Mark Lopata, who he has known for 15 years.

“ML International Expo Logistics is an exciting, young and enthusiastic company that has come a long way after eight years. It’s not afraid to try something new,” said Chadwick. “It’s a good business, and I wanted to get back into freight.”

During his nearly 40 years in the tradeshow industry, Chadwick was able to work on each side of the business.  He previously worked at EP&M India as an international project manager. He has also held senior-level business development roles at Airways Freight Corp. and TWI Group, where he worked for 16 years.

He started his career with Freeman in January 1973. Handling a $3 million budget, Chadwick headed the exhibit department for Dresser Industries’ oilfield divisions in 1978. He was responsible for more than 70 tradeshows a year worldwide. By 1986, he was helping Moss Exhibits enter the tradeshow industry.

In 1988, Chadwick went into business for himself, opening an exhibit house in St. Louis. He sold the business in 1992.

“When I sold the company, it was worth three quarters of a million dollars,” Chadwick added.

Wanting to stay involved in the industry as much as possible, Chadwick is renewing his membership for Exhibit Designers and Producers Association (EDPA), Exhibition Services and Contractors Association (ESCA), International Association of Exhibition and Events (IAEE) and Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association (HCEA).

He attended Tarleton State University.
