Mass. governor appoints CDS employee to community role

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick appointed Convention Data Services’ (CDS) human resources director to the Board of Trustees of a local college.

In this role, Judy Barrigas will be responsible for helping to shape policy supporting the mission of this board of the Cape Cod Community College, also known as “4Cs.”

Barrigas will help the “4Cs” make student success its first priority and to provide opportunities and pathways of academic achievement, business advancement, and workforce development on the Cape and Islands, Canal Region, and in the Plymouth/South Shore region of Massachusetts.

“I’m very excited to be accepted as a member of this board. I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued development and evolvement of Cape Cod Community College,” stated Barrigas.

Barrigas was chosen for the Board of Trustees based on her 25-plus years of business experience, commitment to community, and her belief in the importance of making quality, affordable access to higher education and workforce training available to the region. She will begin her appointment at the board’s first meeting of the new academic year on Sept. 16.

Located in Bourne, Mass., Convention Data Services provides registration and onsite services, data management, exhibitor lead management services and event marketing to the tradeshow industry.
