The Award, in its second edition, celebrates exemplary organizations that consistently demonstrate outstanding success in their work with the integrated resort. A global initiative led by Marina Bay Sands’ corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, vendors are rewarded in the categories of corporate culture and sustainability, innovation, service excellence, small-medium enterprise, quality management, cost management and project management.

Exceptional service providers and suppliers were nominated by Marina Bay Sands’ business units and Team Members. The companies were then placed through two rounds of judging, first by parent company Las Vegas Sands, followed by the executive leadership team in Singapore. Nominees hold diverse portfolios ranging from construction, food and beverage, facilities, marketing and advertising, as well as retail and technology.

“It is our privilege to be able to work with local partners as we develop Marina Bay Sands through the years. It’s extremely rewarding to see how these companies, many of them home-grown firms, have evolved and grown along with our success. It’s vital that Marina Bay Sands continues to invest and benefit the local industries, and that is why over 90 percent of our contracts are awarded to Singapore-based companies,” said George Tanasijevich, president and chief executive officer, Marina Bay Sands. “Sands Supplier Excellence Awards is our way of thanking our vendors and partners, and rewarding some of the best among them. As we move into our fifth year of operations, we will continue to benefit the
community we live in and help local enterprises we work with prosper alongside our development in Singapore.”

Marina Bay Sands operates on a volume and scale like no other business does in the local hospitality industry. In 2010, Marina Bay Sands awarded 70 percent, or S$285.8 million, of its total procurement contracts to Singapore-based companies. In 2013, the number rose to
