“As one of the most competitive cities in the world, London was selected as the host city for 2015,” said Dr. Jiangzhou Wang, executive chair, IEEE ICC 2015 conference.

Commenting on why IEEE chose London, Dr. Wang said, “The city is a very attractive tourist destination and business center with an excellent and cost effective transportation system. It provides a gateway to Europe and the rest of the world, with 2,000 direct flights per week to London from major cities. With its rich history, London is also one of the most attractive cities in the world. In addition to providing numerous local iconic attractions for conference attendees to explore, London’s Tech City, the fastest growing technology cluster in Europe, is a huge draw for the communications community. Partnering with the ExCeL London team allowed for a successful event in terms of logistics and assisting with the advanced publicity of the event.”

Andrew Swanston, head of sales – Conferences & Events, added, “We are delighted that IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) selected ExCeL London to host its 2015 event. This is representative of a trend we are seeing, with an increasing number of North American meeting planners now choosing London for their events. Currently 25 percent of all conference and event business at ExCeL comes from North America, with other clients including Aviation Week, Microsoft, Salesforce.com, CFA Institute and Cisco.”

ExCeL London is the capital’s international convention and exhibition center, located in London’s Royal Docks.
