Jaymie Bradford Joins San Diego Convention Center Corporation Board of Directors

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer has appointed Jaymie Bradford to the San Diego Convention Center Corporation Board of Directors, effective August 22.

Bradford is the executive vice president & chief operating officer for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce where she leads the Chamber’s strategy and vision. She was previously the vice president of Public Policy and Economic Research after serving as Mayor Faulconer’s deputy chief of staff and chief of policy where she managed convention center policy areas.

Bradford will join the seven-member board that sets policy for the San Diego Convention Center Corporation and fills the vacancy left by Aimee Faucett who stepped down from the Board to join Mayor Faulconer as his chief of staff.

“I am confident Ms. Bradford will bring invaluable experience and expertise to the Convention Center Corporation Board of Directors and I would like to thank her for her willingness to serve in this capacity,” wrote the mayor in his official appointment letter to City Council.

Bradford has extensive experience in local government. She has worked in policy and public affairs for the city of San Diego for over a decade including for the office of Interim Mayor Todd Gloria and as director of intergovernmental relations during Jerry Sanders’ tenure as mayor of San Diego.

While earning her degree in political science at UC San Diego, she was a member of the NCAA women’s soccer team. She also served on the board of the Emilo Nares Foundation, a non-profit that helps underprivileged families who have kids with cancer meet basic needs, especially transportation to treatments.

The San Diego Convention Center Corporation board of directors sets policy for the public benefit corporation that was created by the city of San Diego to exclusively manage, market and operate the 2.6 million-square-foot waterfront facility.
