The U.S. Travel Association just wrapped up its 2013 edition of its annual International Pow Wow (IPW) held in Las Vegas from June 8-12 and has scheduled a return in 2020.
The annual event draws participation from every major U.S. city and can generate tens of millions of dollars for the host city. This year, the IPW had more than 6,000 delegates from the United States and 70 other nations, 1,300 exhibitors and an equal number of buyers as well as about 500 members of the media.
The recent Las Vegas event is expected to generate in excess of $3.5 billion in travel to the United States, according to the U.S. Travel Association. More than 90,000 business meetings were scheduled this year in Las Vegas.
The 2014 IPW is scheduled in Chicago April 5-9.
