Informa Exhibitions U.S., Construction and Real Estate and Dwell Media (Informa) announced May 29 that Dwell on Design, an asset of Dwell Media, LLC with shows in New York and Los Angeles, will now be owned by UK-based Informa. The agreement formalizes a partnership between Dwell and Informa, which aims to expand the scope and international presence and influence of America’s largest design event.
Informa President Rick McConnell along with Dwell Media President and CEO Michela O’Connor Abrams announced the collaboration on the opening day of the 10th annual Dwell on Design L.A.
Integral to the Dwell on Design experience is the on-stage content, which will continue to be curated by Dwell Media under the tutelage of Amanda Dameron, executive vice president of content, Dwell. Since its inception in 2006, content themes have expanded from the show floor to offsite events at Dwell Design Week and will remain dedicated to driving attendee engagement and exhibitor activations at Dwell on Design.
“It has long been the plan for the evolution of Dwell on Design to include international iterations of what is truly America’s largest design event,” commented Michela O’Connor Abrams, president and CEO, Dwell. “Paramount to achieving that level of growth was finding the right partner. With the acquisition of Dwell on Design, Informa adds to its roster of over 150 events worldwide and continues to expand its shows in the Design vertical. For both brands, the long-term partnership agreement is entered into with the goal of establishing Dwell on Design’s global presence as the premier design event series and voice of modern design around the world.

Dwell on Design NY 2015 will be held October 2-4 at Clarkson Square in Soho in New York. Dwell on Design LA 2016 will take place June 24-26 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
