Indian exhibition market highlighted at IFES World Summit 2014

The International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services (IFES) hosted its annual IFES World Summit 2014 from May 31 to June 1 in New Delhi, India.

Taking place at the Le Meridian Hotel in New Delhi, the Summit was packed with two full days of activities, laying special focus on the industry-related knowledge of the Indian and Middle East markets. It also laid emphasis on the implementation of environmentally responsible practices, ensuring less wastage and more environmental friendly exhibitions in the future.

“India sees an average of 250 major tradeshows and exhibitions each year. The Indian Market, since opening up to foreign investors, has seen many international exhibition organizers making significant acquisitions in the country”, said Rajnikant Kedia, chairperson, IFES 2014 Annual Meeting Committee. “The focal point of the 2014 World Summit was to offer a firsthand experience of the Indian Exhibition Industry. It attempts to identify and explain the working dynamics of the Indian market: the challenges and opportunities.”

The IFES mission is to create a stronger understanding about tradeshow marketing or exhibition marketing on a world scale through networking and sharing knowledge. Firsthand experiences are a most powerful learning tool. This year’s learning experience location was India.

“We have really accomplished making each year’s meeting a worthwhile experience for our members. IFES hopes to create new business opportunities and most importantly, network with fellow members,” said Peter Theodorides, marketing and public relations chair, IFES. “We are very happy that most of our attendees left Delhi with a better understanding of what the Indian exhibition market is and understood the strategic importance of this region for the future of our industry.”

The IFES World Summit 2014 in Delhi successfully provided an energizing conference and destination experience to its members and participants from across the world. It created a platform of interaction with local as well as international key decision makers from the exhibition service industry.

Next year’s summit will be in Vienna, Austria, in June 2015.
