The Exhibitor Appointed Contractor Association is a not-for-profit organization which seeks to "raise the level of service excellence on the showfloor" by improving the working conditions and practices of those exhibitor appointed contractors and other individual showfloor professionals that provide exhibit services on the trade show floor.

The International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) voted electronically this past month to change the organization’s name to the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM). The results of the ballot were made public during the keynote address at VenueConnect, the 85th annual conference and tradeshow, in Houston, Texas.

The Annual Northern California EDPA Chapter Golf Tournament was held on Thursday, August 5th at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Burlingame, Calif. Ten teams enjoyed perfect weather on a spectacular course before networking at the bar, enjoying a delicious dinner, attending an award ceremony and winning a nice selection of raffle prizes.

The first is a Guru Report: Space Allocation Methods for Exhibitions and Events, written by Randy Bauler, CEM, and sponsored by the Exhibition Services & Contractors Association. This new report outlines some of the more common exhibit space allocation methods employed by organizers of exhibitions and events.
