When she was fourteen years old, Margit Weisgal, CME, president and CEO of the Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA), started her first business. The road from that first venture as an entrepreneur to her current position has been interesting and varied. Lois McLaughlin has been named director of event services at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. In her role as director, she will supervise the planning and execution of all events held at the convention center.
McLaughlin will head a team of nine event services managers who boast a whopping 136 years experience at the convention center, with five members serving 22 or more years.

Andra Oshman, president of Florida-based Professional Exhibitors’ Service Inc.
It’s an understatement to say that the last two years have been challenging for Andra Oshman, president of Florida-based Professional Exhibitors’ Service Inc.
Her mother, company co-founder Marilyn Oshman, succumbed to her two-year battle with lung cancer last June. Two years ago, her baby daughter, Serena, died. Who would blame her if she took time away from the tradeshow world in which her mother was so prominent? But Oshman didn’t. Instead, she decided the best way to honor her mother and daughter’s memories was to dedicate herself to the profession her mother loved and that she grew up in.

Shana Carr, division president of MC2 Exhibit’s southwest region
The trade show and exhibit industry may be a male-dominated one but that didn’t keep Shana Carr from fitting right in.
The division president of MC2 Exhibit’s southwest region for more than two years, Carr is a self-described sports nut who is used to being “one of the guys.”
