Nominations Sought for Publication's "40 Under 40" Industry Honors

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 70 million baby boomers, born between 1946 and 1964, are nearing retirement, including hundreds, if not thousands, of exhibit and association industry professionals. How will the loss of these senior professionals affect and influence our industry? Who will take up the gauntlet?

That's what Exhibit City News is setting out to determine. Who are the young hot shots primed and ready to carry the industry banner into 2015 and beyond? Who are the 40 under 40?
Exhibit City News is gathering nominations to find our industry's most dynamic young business leaders, entrepreneurs, managers, marketers, designers, engineers, vendors, exhibit and event managers, and sales and account executives.

But, we need your help. Do you know individuals are worthy of recognition? Does he or she have at least 5-years experience in the tradeshow, event, or association-related industries?
• General Contractors
• Exhibit Designers & Fabricators
• Facility/Venue Management
• I & D Companies/Labor Unions
• Exhibit Managers/Tradeshow Coordinators
• Association Management
• All Industry Suppliers
• Educators

Nominees must have at least 5-years experience in the industry while also demonstrating ingenuity, creativity, and leadership in their careers. We are looking for innovative marketing ideas, design creativity, sales successes, unique personal stories, tales of triumph, and leadership in their profession and their lives. We will strive to ensure that our honorees represent the diversity that exists in the business.

Who is eligible for Exhibit City News 40 Under 40 Honors of 2009?

1. A nominee must have at least 5-years experience in the industry.
2. A nominee must have demonstrated innovation, leadership, and achievements in life,
community, company, and/or industry.
3. 40 Under 40 nominees must be 40-years old or younger as of June 1, 2009.
4. Self-nominations are accepted.

Application Instructions:

1. Nominees must address all information requested on the official application form.
2. Applications must be submitted as a Word document.
3. All applications must be submitted by e-mail and must be received no later than 11 p.m., PST, June 15. 2009
4. All applications must include a quality digital photo (300 dpi .jpg or .tif file image).
5. All applications must include a current resume or bio.

General Information

1. All applications received by the deadline will be considered.
2. Applications received after the deadline will be considered for the 2010 honors if the nominee meets
the age requirement as of the 2010 application deadline.
3. The selection committee/judges consists of Exhibit City News staff members, and all decisions are final.
4. Exhibit City News, its owners, and staff, are not responsible for misdirected, lost or late applications, and hold the right to reject an application.
5. Recipients of the 2009 honors will be notified by mail or email by July 1, 2009.
6. All 2009 Honors recipients will be highlighted in the August 2009 issue of Exhibit City News, as
well as on exhibitcitynews.com.
