The UNLV Rebel Recycling program recently received a donation of a Sun Shade made by Repurpose AMERICA, a non-profit organization in Southern Nevada, from building-sized advertisements, made possible by a grant from the Consumer Electronic Association (CEA) producer of the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) hosted yearly in Las Vegas.

“Repurpose AMERICA is committed to working towards zero waste conventions, utilizing non-recyclable materials as feedstock for manufacturing Vegas made products and putting people to work in Nevada,” said Zachary Delbex, CEO, Repurpose America.

This is the initial donation of what is expected to be a series of donations of building materials towards the reconstruction of the Rebel Recycling Center and the future site for a campus community garden.

Repurpose AMERICA is non-profit organization whose mission is to enable a sustainable community through innovation and education. Repurpose AMERICA was created to be a sustainable solution for many obstacles of managing excess material waste that is faced by the community.

The Rebel Recycling Program provides 26,000 students and over 3,000 faculty that make up the campus with comprehensive waste reduction, recycling, and resource management in an efficient, timely manner.
