Inaugural supply chain tradeshow to co-locate with MODEX

Co-locating with MODEX 2014, the inaugural Supply Chain & Transportation USA Exhibition & Conference (SCTUSA) will feature topics such as near-shoring.

SCTUSA is a new tradeshow and educational conference serving the transportation needs of supply chain executives.

Meanwhile, MODEX 2014 is a show that targets the supply chain and manufacturing industry. The show will take place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta on Mar. 17-20.

The term “near-shoring” refers to the growing grass-roots movement of returning key manufacturing jobs to the U.S. from overseas.

According to SCTUSA featured speaker Wade McDaniel, vice president of supply chain solutions, Avnet Velocity, the conference will explore how companies can evaluate whether near-shoring is the right move, the factors to consider and best practices for implementation.

“Near-shoring is increasingly being considered an effective business strategy as companies consider rising transportation costs, physical and political risks, and where their customers, manufacturing and supply clusters are located,” said McDaniel.

Together with MODEX 2014 and the Georgia Logistics Summit, the joint event will offer 150 educational sessions, workshops and case studies, and more than 800 exhibitors and conference speakers addressing various industry and supply chain issues.
