Illinois convention property scheduled for $11.6M renovation

Schaumburg Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, a property owned by the Village of Schaumburg in Illinois but ran by Marriott, will see $11.6 million worth of upgrades in the coming years.

Scheduled to occur in two phases over three years, the renovation will mostly affect the interior of the hotel in which the nearly 10-year hotel contains many dated furnishings and equipment.

While the first part of the renovation will last a few months, the lengthier second phase will transform guestrooms, hallways, elevators and more.

The Village of Schaumburg board of directors is scheduled to start contract negotiations with project development firm, PMC-Property Management Consultants by the end of October.
