IAEE hires vice president of learning experiences

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has hired a vice president of learning experiences to enhance the organization’s educational programs.


Marsha Flanagan joins the IAEE as vice president of learning experiences responsible forflanagin-iaee the continued enhancement of IAEE’s educational content creation. Flanagan will work closely with IAEE’s Education Council to develop programs that align with the strategic initiatives of the association, which will benefit IAEE members and exhibitions and events industry professionals as a whole.

“With the addition of Marsha to IAEE’s executive team, I am excited and confident that she will continue the charge put forth by both the IAEE Board of Directors and the Education Committee to develop the most relevant and essential professional development programs possible,” said David DuBois, president, IAEE. “She will be an excellent addition to the staff.”

Flanagan was the director of content strategy and development for the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), where she oversaw the directional strategy as well as the development and delivery of all current and future PPAI professional development and editorial offerings. Prior to joining PPAI, she served as director of operations for the Center for Skin and Cosmetic Dermatology. She started her career in nonprofit management with Meeting Professionals International, where she was vice president of professional development.

“I am thrilled to join IAEE in this role, and my not-for-profit background and understanding of the meetings industry in creating content, events and certification programs fits perfectly with the unique needs of this position,” said Flanagan.

Flanagan received her bachelor’s degree in education from Texas Christian University and her master’s degree in education from the University of Arkansas.

Founded in1928, the IAEE is the largest association of the exhibitions and events industry in the world with a membership of show organizers, exhibitors and exhibition suppliers. Organizers of more than 20,000 exhibitions and buyer-seller events around the world are members of IAEE. Through its 2006 consolidation with the Center for Exhibition Industry Research, the IAEE also delivers valuable industry research reports.
