IAEE enhances U.S.-China relations

To expand collaborations in China, International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) signed a cooperation agreement with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chengdu Sub-council.

The strategic agreement, signed Jan. 10, encourages participation in exhibitions and events in Chengdu and fosters continued goodwill throughout China.

“This agreement serves to bring buyers and sellers face-to-face to conduct business around the world and contribute to global commerce and positive relations throughout China,” said David DuBois, president and CEO, IAEE.

CCPIT Chengdu Sub-council and IAEE will communicate the economic benefits of the exhibition industry in each community as well as disseminate event opportunities for industry professionals to attend. Additionally, both organizations will jointly organize exhibitions, conferences and seminars for exhibition organizers as well as organize and promote specific programs while providing assistance with country-specific issues.

“The quality, industry resources and effective international channels of IAEE will help Chengdu improve international cooperation and the developmental level of exhibition and event industry,” said Mu Tao, chairman, Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chengdu Sub-council, and director, Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Exposition.

IAEE will continue to offer the Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) Learning Program solely through CCPIT and build upon the more than 700 professionals who have earned the designation. The large association will also serve as an ambassador to the U.S. government on behalf of Chinese attendees and exhibitors seeking visas to attend U.S.-based events, and likewise, CCPIT Chengdu Sub-council will support IAEE’s programs by communicating the value of IAEE’s member benefits and education to industry professionals in China.

The collaboration will create a platform for information exchange, research distribution, statistical analysis and industry data share to improve the profile of the exhibitions and events industry in the general marketplace.
