Hospitality expert running new department at RMC

After creating a new department, RMC, a large special events and destination marketing company (DMC), ensured a long-time hospitality expert would run it.

Overseeing the National Accounts department is Angela Cava, who has more than 25 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, including sales.

“Creating a National Accounts department has been a long-term goal for RMC. It wasn’t until Angela joined RMC early this year that we knew we had found the perfect person to make this goal a reality,” said Nathan Boyd, president, RMC.

Most of Cava’s experience has been with Marriott & Starwood Resorts. Her passion is destination-specialized sales in Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii and several Mountain Resort locations.

“We are very excited for the future of RMC and our partners with Angela leading this department. Her experience in national accounts, her relationships with clients and her knowledge of our destinations is second to none. This is a true win-win proposition,” he added.

Cava began her hospitality career as a top-producing senior sales manager at Austin Marriott in 1989. She held a range of sales and marketing positions over two decades with Marriott International, where she opened a 1002-room resort with 265,000-square-feet of function space, two PGA golf courses and a six-acre water park, in addition to acting as director of national accounts for nine Marriott resorts; director of national accounts in Marriott’s Hawaii Regional Sales office; and director of national accounts in the Marriott Global Sales office.

Later, Cava helped RMC reposition Hotel St. Regis in Aspen as the leader in luxury mountain resorts during a $40-million redesign. More recently, she managed client relations as director of sales at RMC Park City.
