Global Spectrum named manager of two Atlantic City venues

The Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority (ACCVA), the city’s tourism promotion agency, selected Global Spectrum to manage and operate the Atlantic City Convention Center and its arena, Boardwalk Hall.

Approving the three-year contract with Global Spectrum on Nov. 19 was the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA), a New Jersey governmental agency responsible for directing the spending of casino reinvestment funds. The contract includes two one-year renewal options.

This is the second time ACCVA chose Global Spectrum, which was contested last year by the convention center and arena’s former manager and operator of the last 17 years, SMG. After it took control of the Authority, CRDA restarted the management selection process again.

As part of its contract, Global Spectrum will receive a base fee of $180,000 annually with performance incentives.
