G2E celebrates 10 years

g2ewebGlobal Gaming Expo (G2E) 2010, the international event for the gaming entertainment industry, began on November 16 with more than 520 exhibitors, including 87 international exhibitors from 25 different countries. The expo will feature 435 speakers in 130 conference sessions dedicated to every sector of the industry.

Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, G2E has grown significantly since its inception in 2001. In just a decade, attendance has nearly doubled, providing proof that the gaming industry is more vital and relevant than ever.

“Casinos are constantly upgrading their offerings to include the new technologies and groundbreaking trends that provide even more exciting and satisfying entertainment experiences for their guests,” said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the American Gaming Association. “The G2E 2010 show floor is the perfect place for gaming professionals to discover the newest products and innovations that will help them maintain their competitive edge in a constantly evolving marketplace.”

The main show floor at G2E 2010 features four pavilions: iGaming, Casino Design, Security & Surveillance and Technology. All of the pavilions are supported by educational sessions within G2E’s comprehensive conference program.

New to G2E 2010 is the iGaming pavilion, which will feature Internet gaming software products to support online games such as poker, sports betting and bingo. It also will host support systems including marketing tools, live gaming software, payment technologies and much more. Visitors to the iGaming pavilion will experience the products needed to launch and support an Internet gaming program.

This year, the show floor features F&B at G2E, an area with focused exhibit space and special events to address the growing importance of the food and beverage (F&B) sector to the industry’s bottom line.

The Entertainment Arena at G2E will feature two separate performance stages, each showcasing a selection of unique entertainment acts that can be booked at casinos across the country.

Nearly 40 companies exhibiting the latest products and innovations in gaming will offer exclusive show specials to attendees. The specials are only available at G2E and range from free samples to discounts on gaming products and services.

The expo officially opened on November 16 with its annual ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. in the main lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The expo is expected to be attended by more than 26,000 industry professionals from around the world and will comprise 250,000 square feet of exhibit space.
