Freeman educates policymakers during Exhibitions Day

Freeman, the world’s leading provider of integrated brand experiences, will engage with Capitol Hill policymakers as part of the Exhibitions Mean Business campaign and the signature Exhibitions Day event, taking place in Washington, D.C., on June 8 and 9.

The main purpose of the event is to establish a direct line of communication with lawmakers to highlight the significant impact of the exhibitions and events industry on the economy. Attendees will also discuss how select regulatory decisions impact the industry’s ability to make positive economic contributions.

“The Exhibitions Mean Business campaign demonstrates to lawmakers the positive economic impact the exhibition industry has upon both companies and local communities,” said Christie Greenleaf, senior vice president of sales and industry relations, Freeman, and the company’s Capitol Hill representative. “Exhibitions and tradeshows continue to grow within the overall marketing mix, because events build the key relationships that drive economic value. It makes sense for policymakers to support the value created by marketers and business through the brand experience channel.”

According to an Inc. article, 95 percent of professionals say face-to-face events are key to fostering successful business connections, and 87 percent of attendees say live meetings are essential for closing deals. A survey of marketers by research firm Software Advice indicated they find more and better qualified leads at tradeshows versus other marketing channels.

“As the world’s leading provider of integrated brand experiences, we are delighted to take such an active role in educating policymakers about the value our industry creates. For over 87 years, Freeman has focused on connecting people in meaningful ways and delivering on our vision to transform, grow and extend the world of live engagements,” stated Joe Popolo, CEO, Freeman. “The coalition has been invaluable in giving us a platform to actively engage with stakeholders and key policymakers and to underscore the obligation we have to drive business growth and generate results for our clients, our partners and our teams.”

Since 1927, Freeman has developed and grown the exhibition industry. It currently supports many industry associations as a strategic partner including CEIR, CIC, EDPA, ESCA, IAEE, IAVM, MPI, PCMA, SISO, USTA and many members of its leadership team serve on industry boards.

As a testament to Freeman’s long-standing commitment to the industry, Chairman Don Freeman was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the meetings and convention industry with the PCMA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.
