Inaugural North American Commercial Vehicle Show Revved Up at GWCC

The inaugural North American Commercial Vehicle Show, a new concept commercial vehicle industry trade show focused on truck and trailer manufacturers, commercial vehicle parts and components suppliers, hosted 439 exhibitors at Georgia World Congress Center, Sept. 25-28.

A total of 6,000 unique visitors and 9,000 visits for the four-day show represented industry leaders, suppliers, top fleet owners and managers and 234 accredited international journalists. Top OEMs and solutions providers released their latest innovations, including hybrid and electric powered trucks, cutting-edge customizable trucks and trailers, advanced driver assistance systems, fuel efficiency equipment, safety technologies and high-quality truck accessories at the sold-out show.

“The NACV Show’s B2B concept was a real hit with our attendees who gave us high marks for launching such a global showcase,” said Larry Turner, president and CEO, Hannover Fairs USA and co-organizer, NACV Show. “The industry’s key players have been extremely supportive of this new show and made it a priority to launch their exciting new products at our first show.”

“Atlanta was honored to host the inaugural NACV Show, and we look forward to hosting again in 2019 and 2021,” said William Pate, president and CEO, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The city’s history and reputation as a transportation hub makes Atlanta a natural fit for this convention.”

The world’s leaders in the truck and trailer industry spotlighted trends, disruptive technologies and design innovations at the inaugural show. The NACV Show offered attendees and exhibitors many opportunities to learn more about the industry’s outlook and trends.

“Selling out the inaugural NACV Show underscores just how important our new, sophisticated and business-centric trade show concept is to the North American trucking industry audience,” said Turner. “There wasn’t much unused space in that (exhibit) hall.”

Indeed, the show floor was packed with shiny new freighters, commercial vans, delivery trucks, and aisle after aisle of booths featuring parts, components and the industry’s emerging gadgets – like a trucking superstore on steroids.

And the show had an international flavor as 42 percent of the exhibit floor was occupied by companies headquartered outside of the U.S., including exhibitors from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and Turkey.

“We are thrilled that the industry’s leading companies from around the world have embraced the show from its inception,” said Turner.

The NACV Show will return to Georgia World Congress Center in October 2019 and September 2021.
