ExpoSystems conference unites professionals in Latin America

ExpoSystems, the International Conference and Exhibition of Integrated Solutions for Tradeshows and Corporate Events, recently concluded its 9th edition on December 1. During its nine-year run, ExpoSystems has established itself as the main Latin American event focused on the global network of services for tradeshows and events.

The ExpoSystems 2011 integrated conference program had more than 470 attendees.

Each year, ExpoSystems is attended by a number of high-profile representatives of professional associations and a growing list of international exhibitors.

“We are very pleased with our participation and results this year,” said Dárcio Bertocco, president of the Enterprise Promotion, Trade Show, Organization and Set-up, Conferences and Events Association of the State of São Paulo. “We achieved our expectations thanks to the excellent quality of the professionals who visited ExpoSystems, mostly business decision-makers.”

Carlos Alberto Sauandag, the president of the Booth Builders and Stand Rentals Brazilian Association (ABRACE) made sure to highlight quality as the key characteristic of the event. ExpoSystems made an immediate impression on Sauandag, who was surprised that the event was able to gather so many important industry segments into one location.

“The exchange that takes place with other companies, both Brazilian and foreign, was excellent,” said Sauandag. “We are a new entity and we were very surprised with how well our proposal was accepted by the companies present at ExpoSystems.”

ExpoSystems 2011 also featured its integrated conference program, which had a total of 470 conference attendees and the participation of national and international speakers. All of these conferences were well attended. Some of the speakers included:

  • Manfred Ritschard of Switzerland, who is an expert on service and sales management, spoke about service management fundamentals for major events such as the World Cup.
  • Henrique Guerra of Brazil, who is a branding expert, talked about translating a brand in spaces of all kinds, from offices to tradeshow booths.
  • Jason Popp, an executive vice president and international CEO for GES also spoke at the event as a business strategy expert. He spoke about promotion and performance strategies in tradeshows and techniques to attract and qualify attendees.

ExpoSystems is also an important facilitator for professionals in Latin America, as it provides an ideal environment for business lead generation.

This year, 107 exhibitors occupied over 86,000 square feet of exhibit space.

“I’m coming out of ExpoSystems with many new ideas,” said Renata Gavioli Puga, event analyst for the Brazilian Association of Metallurgy, Mining and Materials (ABM), an organization that promoted 14 events in 2011, including seminars, conferences and workshops.

Claus Holtmann, CEO of Messe + Event Holtmann, one of the companies that joined the German Pavilion, highlighted the quality of exhibitors and the important contacts he established with Brazilian suppliers as one of the main draws of ExpoSystems.

“The German government has already approved the participation of German companies in the next ExpoSystems and we are one of them,” said Claus, who was a speaker at ExpoSystems two years ago. “It was interesting to go back and see how the event has grown. ExpoSystems is definitely on the agenda of the South American tradeshow professional.”

The International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services (IFES), which consists of members from 35 countries, also attended the conference.

“We decided to participate in the ExpoSystems about seven months ago in order to initiate partnerships that would serve as a gateway to the Brazilian market,” said Gloria Guevara, executive director of IFES. “It was a very productive participation.”

This year, 107 exhibitors occupied over 86,000 square feet of the pavilion, providing a variety of solutions and covering more than 20 industry segments. Attendance at the three-day event reached 4,000 visitors.

Grupo Feira & Cia, the organizers of the event, are already looking ahead to 2012 with another rich conference agenda.

“We closed 2011 ExpoSystems successfully in this new space and had satisfied exhibitors because of the important contacts and business (deals) they made,” said Anselmo Carvalho, director of the Grupo Feira & Cia. “To keep what we have shown in this edition is the first step in our commitment for 2012.”

The 10th edition of the ExpoSystems will be held from December 4-6, 2012, at the Transamerica Expo Center in Brazil.

“We have already sold 70 percent of the spaces for the conferences,” said Carvalho.
