ExCeL London won the coveted ‘Venue of the Year’ award at the Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO) Excellence Awards on June 26 at London’s Grosvenor House.
“Winning the Best Venue Award is a huge accolade and testament to everyone’s hard work and dedication over the last year,” said Jeremy Rees, executive director of exhibitions, ExCeL London. “The entire team’s focus is on delivering the best possible event outcomes at ExCeL and to have this recognized by our industry peers is fantastic. This year’s AEO awards have been a great celebration of event successes and an affirmation that the efforts that we are putting in place are reaping rewards. The trophy will sit proudly next to the Exhibition News Award for Best Venue, which we were delighted to also win earlier this year.”
ExCel plans to further build on success at the AEO awards with millions of pounds of investment committed over the summer which will transform the boulevard, upgrade the building facilities and further improve the technology infrastructure at the venue.
Meanwhile, a number of events that are hosted at ExCeL also celebrated success. Further award winners included MCM London Comic Con for ‘Best Consumer Show while ICE Totally Gaming picked up the ‘Best Marketing Campaign’ award and IFSEC International were awarded ‘Best UK Trade Show over 2,000sqm’ in its first outing at ExCeL London since relocating from the NEC.
