Event Safety Alliance appoints two board members

Responding to its growing influence within the global event space, Event Safety Alliance announced the addition of two industry veterans to the group’s Board of Directors.

By unanimous consent of the current Board, Andy Lenthall of the Production Services Association and Tim Roberts of The Event Safety Shop were appointed to the organization’s leadership body, and will use their extensive international experience to guide the ESA’s evolution into a worldwide force for cultural change.

“We’re extraordinarily honored by Andy and Tim’s involvement,” stated ESA Board Chairman Jim Digby.” “Both are visionaries and bridge-builders within the global marketplace, and have a proven track record of challenging the status quo for the benefit of those working in live events. As the ESA looks to expand operations outside of the North American market, their insight will be indispensable helping us build relationships with government agencies, collaborate with existing industry groups, and to build a safety training and advocacy infrastructure where none currently exist.”

Commenting on his appointment, Andy Lenthall stated, “I’m delighted to be part of the continued, ambitious growth of the ESA. From being in the audience at Tour Link, hearing Jim’s passionate delivery and announcement of the formation of the ESA, I’ve been hooked on the idea of sharing knowledge and awareness of safe practices globally.”

Tim Roberts echoed Lenthall’s sentiments. “A safe workplace and a safe place to gather, whether it be for a concert, party or public ceremony should be a universal right and entitlement, and in its short lifetime the ESA has worked tirelessly to put life-safety and welfare considerations front-and-center of event planning. I am honored to have been invited to join the Board of the Event Safety Alliance, and I accept their invitation with pleasure.”
