Portr(.com), the London airport focused Luggage Concierge company, partnered with ExCeL London, a flexible event space in the UK. Starting in November, Portr will deliver a new premium travel experience both to and from events for attendees visiting exhibitions and conferences hosted at ExCeL London.
AirPortr’s mission is to both ‘free up’ and improve the efficiency of the ‘time poor’ traveler to have more time to focus on what they need to do. A common stress and ‘bottle neck’ in the event industry, for both attendees and organizers, is the headache of people turning up either on the first/ last day of an event with their luggage in tow. This slows the attendee down and inconveniences everyone at the venue with the need to accommodate burdensome baggage (onsite storage restrictions; queues for cloakrooms; attendee congestion flows and even health and safety concerns – it’s simply not a practical and premium experience).
With busy schedules and itineraries to meet, too often the traveler has to journey straight to an event destination with their bags and in doing so slowing themselves down and incurring an unnecessary inconvenience for the remainder of the day.
The AirPortr solution will now mean ExCeL attendees arriving at London City Airport can have their luggage taken off their hands and then delivered onto where and when the bags are actually needed – This additionally takes care of the common headache of arriving for an event early in the morning, with bags, but not being able to check into a hotel and drop off bags.
In addition AirPortr will provide a bespoke service at ExCeL where they will be an AirPortr presence on site for attendees turning up direct with their luggage, from wherever they have traveled, enabling attendees to drop off their luggage at the desk for it to be delivered onto its London destination.
The days of luggage being an eventful part of attending ExCeL London are numbered, and baggage will no longer dictate attendee’s itinerary — something AirPortr likes to call Luggage Freedom.
