ESCA announces award program for industry leaders

ESCA announced an annual award program to recognize individuals for Lifetime Achievement and Outstanding Service to be recognized at the Winter Annual Business Meeting Dec. 9.

Nominations are being accepted through Oct. 10, forms can be downloaded from the website at www.esca.org. Take advantage of an opportunity to recognize industry pioneers and leaders.

Lifetime Achievement Award

This award recognizes the individual or individuals for extraordinary contributions over a significant course of time. Over the course of the individual’s involvement in the exhibition industry, nominee should have made generally recognizable contributions to the industry, such as:

  • Product development/inventions or pioneering techniques.
  • Design or development of procedures and/or systems that are acknowledged as having advanced the industry.
  • Represented ESCA and/or the cause of ESCA members and the greater industry through issue advocacy, education, and/or though leadership.
  • Was/is a role model for ESCA and the industry at large.

Eligibility:

  • Must have a minimum of 20 years of active involvement in the exhibition industry.
  • Must have been an ESCA member for a minimum of 5 years; if still employed in the industry, must be a current member.
  • Nominee can be retired; can also be awarded posthumously.
  • Can be awarded to more than one member annually.
  • Nominee can be a current Board of Director Member.
  • Does not have to be awarded annually.

 

ESCA Outstanding Service Award

This award recognizes an individual that made measurable or generally recognizable contributions to the industry during the 12 months prior to the nomination cutoff of Nov. 9. Criteria include:

 

  • Representing the industry through issue advocacy, speaking or education (Leadership).
  • Through volunteer activities, made a significant contribution to ESCA or the industry at large as a representative of ESCA (Volunteerism).
  • Developed or designed a product, service or procedure that has had significant impact in the industry beyond the scope of the member’s employer during the 12 months prior to the nominating period (Innovation).

 

Eligibility:

 

  • Must be an employee of an ESCA member company in good standing.
  • Members cannot self-nominate.
  • Can be awarded to more than one member annually.
  • Nominee can be a current member of the Board of Directors.
