Sponsored by Hyundai, the hole-in-one prize for the day was a 2015 Hyundai Genesis, part of the company’s premier automotive line. While no one drove away in new wheels during the tournament, the winning team chose two players to attend the 2015 Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.

The day’s first-place winners hailed from CDS, Totally Mod and MC2, consisting of Hector Buendia, Jason Vince, Bernie Massett and John Lopez. Buendia and Vince will attend the Hyundai invitational.

Since its inception in 2002, the Las Vegas Scholarship Classic has raised more than $50,000 in partnership with the EDPA foundation, awarding more than 50 scholarships to recipients pursuing degrees in special education, robotics, engineering and everything in between.

Brittany Bratton, the 2013 scholarship recipient, attended the luncheon to give her well wishes to the next honoree, and to thank the EDPA for their support.

“This really was a great thing and it helped me so much with my college tuition,” Bratton said.

During the luncheon, raffles winners were announced from donated prizes that included wine and liquor reserves, restaurant gift certificates, retail merchandise and much more.

Second-place winners were from Exhibit Fair International, and were Norman Davies, Brent Toft, Brandon Sipe and Kurtis Kestler.

The third place team, from Hyundai, consisted of Kevin Szura, Warren Guiterrez, Lawrence Barela and Gary Wesolowski.

Two longest drive competitions were held for the men and women in the tournament on holes nine and 16, were Jason Vince from Totally Mod and Rachel Christiansen from Exhibit City News.

Closest to the pin winners on the two par three holes were John Lopez and Chris Carlin.

The same week of the golf tournament in Las Vegas, the southeast chapter of the EDPA hosted a Food Truck Friday event June 13 at the Atlanta Food Truck Park & Market.

For its inaugural get together, the event brought together around 20 industry leaders and peers in the region to catch up with one another and enjoy a day of lunch.

The first ten people to show up with a coupon received a free lunch from EDPA, and more than 30 food trucks are available to choose from. All proceeds from the chapter event are planned donations for the Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic.
