EDPA appoints first non-North American president for 2015

Exhibit Designers and Producers Association (EDPA), a trade organization established in 1954, appointed its first non-North American president at its annual ACCESS conference this past December.

Robert Campbell, vice president of Uniplan Group in Switzerland and Kaohsiung Exhibition Center in Taiwan, will hold this position in 2015.

“It is my pleasure to be able to represent the EDPA at the highest level,” said Campbell. “Over the years, the Uniplan Group has benefited strongly from our exposure at EDPA, having gained business, partners, market understanding and a great many friends.”

In a ceremony much celebrated by the more than 300 attendees at ACCESS, Campbell took over the presidency from Jay Burkette on Dec. 4.  In his acceptance speech, Campbell stressed his international and cross-cultural roots: He was born in Uruguay of British grandparents, and having lived in Switzerland for nearly 30 years, he holds passports from all three countries.

This, combined with over 20 years of experience in Asia, in the live communication and MICE fields makes Campbell the ideal person to further increase EDPA’s international membership, which now stands at 20 percent.
