E2MA Relaunches with EACA Focus

Association Decides to Re-organize as EACA

The Board of Directors of the E2MA, (Exhibit & Event Marketers Association), the non-profit organization for corporate marketers, and their suppliers announced today that it will cease its operations as E2MA.

jim-wurmThe E2MA was formed 4 years ago when the members of what was the TSEA (Trade Show Exhibitors Association) joined the EACA (Exhibitor Appointed Contractor Association). “By having both exhibitors and their contractors under the same organization, there was an expectation that we could work together to advocate for member issues and improve the cooperative climate of the exhibit industry,” said Jim Wurm (at right), E2MA executive director. “Unfortunately, the inclusive challenge, i.e. bringing adequate numbers of all parties together into one cohesive group, was more difficult than we anticipated. As a result, we have not been able to maintain a critical mass of engaged exhibitor members to be effective,” Wurm said.

As a result, the Board decided to re-organize the association, and return to its roots, as the Exhibitor Appointed Contractor Association. “The EACA has had a long standing tradition of servicing the exhibit and industry, and its core EAC constituents, by bringing together representation from all segments of the industry to address the pressing needs of the day,” said Wurm. “We intend to continue that tradition as, for starters, we seek to improve customer service for exhibitors through our collective bargaining efforts with our labor union partners as well as improving workflow procedures among other initiatives,” Wurm said.

The Exhibitor Appointed Contractors Association is the tradeshow industry association that is solely dedicated to “raising the level of service excellence on the showfloor.” The EACA represents and supports the interests of those exhibitor appointed contractors and other exhibit services organizations that service customers on the tradeshow floor. The association is currently comprised of more than 200 member companies representing more than 12,500 full time trade show professionals, and more than 50,000 part time trade show workers. The association is headquartered in Bend, Oregon.
