Downing Displays, a full-service exhibit house based in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio, has announced its merger with DeKalb, Ill.-based Horizon Displays, a full service exhibit house located west of Chicago. Horizon will now operate under the name Horizon Downing, LLC.
Both companies expect the merger to bring significant strategic opportunities. Downing’s executives say the merger will allow Downing Displays to better develop the Chicago market and provide competitive solutions for those who exhibit at McCormick Place.
Horizon President Terry Beckman stated, “Downing Displays’ talented design and construction team in Cincinnati will be a great asset. We’re also very excited about the opportunity to offer in-house graphics production and I&D services through their Sho-Link partnership.”
Downing President Mike Scherer added, “This merger will be beneficial for both companies. We’re thrilled to bring on Terry and his team. Pairing their 38 years of knowledge and expertise in the custom exhibit fabrication with our skilled team is a win-win scenario.”
Under the new structure, Mike Scherer will serve as Horizon Downing’s President and Terry Beckman will be the Vice President of Sales. “Merging the talented Horizon team with Downing Displays continues our commitment of helping our clients grow their business and build their brands by exhibiting in trade shows and events.”
