Cvent names 100 most popular resorts by meeting space

Cvent, a leading cloud-based enterprise event management platform, revealed its list of the 100 most popular resorts in North America and the Caribbean, according to meeting and event booking activity in the Cvent Supplier Network.

“Resorts have made a post-recession comeback, with demand for corporate meetings and events growing as the economy has improved,” said Eric Eden, vice president of marketing, Cvent. “Resorts provide an all-inclusive atmosphere that engages meeting attendees while also entertaining them. This is important for all types of events, from companies offering incentive travel experiences and entertaining clients and prospects, to content-heavy meetings where learning can happen in a fun and relaxing setting.”

Amenities define resorts, and all of the properties on the list feature luxuries, such as spas, on-site restaurants, health clubs, concierge services and outdoor pools. Some resorts also offered more unique, entertainment-oriented amenities like water parks, casinos and golf courses.

The list of resorts was compiled from a total of more than 3,500 qualifying properties in North America and the Caribbean from the Cvent Supplier Network. Properties were qualified based on a combination of quantitative metrics and third party review scores, some of which included:

  • Amenities
  • Meeting space (in square feet) and number of meeting rooms
  • Number of guest rooms; and
  • Volume of meetings and room nights booked

The entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas offers meeting and event planning that can take place anywhere from the glitzy casino strip to the CityCenter development. Dominating the list, nine major Sin City resorts made the cut with some of the largest meeting spaces and highest number of sleeping rooms: The Venetian and Palazzo Resort, Hotel & Casinos; Wynn Las Vegas; ARIA Resort & Casino at CityCenter; Bellagio Hotel & Casino; Caesars Palace Las Vegas; Mandalay Bay Resort; MGM Grand Hotel & Casino; The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Autograph Collection; and The Mirage.

The list of resorts is a subset of the Cvent Supplier Network’s complete list, which includes more than 900 destinations and over 200,000 unique venues around the globe.
