Craft & Hobby Association announces world’s largest crafting show

The Craft & Hobby Association, an organization that drives retail traffic for craft and hobby supplies, introduced the world’s largest international crafting show: the CHA 2014 Conference and Tradeshow.

Taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center from Jan. 10-14, 2014, CHA 2014 will bring together the entire crafts and creative industry, with retailers, independent chains and vendors from across the world.

Featuring more than 450 exhibitors with the leading innovations in crafting, CHA 2014 is the premier place to see the newest in the growing crafting and hobby industry, from scrapbooking, sewing, fabrics, paper, mailings, gifts, stickers and more.

As a dynamic marketplace for crafting businesses, the conference focuses on innovation, community and education, as well as offering opportunities to network with and learn from other industry professionals.

CHA 2014 will bring celebrities and the crafting community together, with appearances by the “Wheel of Fortune” host and knitting enthusiast Vanna White for Lion Brand Yarn Company; “America Now “TV host and scrapbooker Leeza Gibbons for Prima Marketing; and “Inside Edition” host and crafter, Deborah Norville for Premier Yarns. Expressing their love of crafting and techniques, the TV celebrities will launch new lines of yarn and scrapbooking products at the conference.

CHA 2014 will feature:

  • International buyers and a creative marketplace for face-to-face networking and sales
  • A showcase of new products with innovations in product development and design
  • Hands-on workshops where exhibitors can teach and engage directly with customers
  • Business seminars where participants can learn about success secrets
  • Networking events that build community for valuable connections with industry professionals

In addition, 20 products will be chosen for the “Hot 20 Products” Awards at CHA 2014. In early 2013, Hot 20 Products Awards were given to new crafting innovations, including Martha Stewart Crafts’ glass paint, a specially-formulated permanent premium paint that is dishwasher safe and UV/weather resistant; FixNZip, a patented slider device that fixes zippers without tools; and Spellbinders Imperial Gold, four dimensional die templates that cut, emboss, stencil and deboss in multiple layers.

Offering numerous opportunities for networking at after-hours special events, CHA 2014 will also include the Foundation Gala supporting CRE8TIME – the CHA Foundation’s consumer outreach program, a block party musical event every day after the show and retailer round tables.

New charity projects will also be launched at the show, such as the “Banners of Hope” project, which features fabrics-based banners created during the CHA 2014 show to express messages of hope and encouragement in a subtle artistic format. These banners will be displayed in public locations after the show to benefit those in challenging circumstances. CHA 2014 will feature a Banners of Hope project construction zone to make these banners and offer advice on how to replicate the inspirational program in cities across the U.S. and internationally.
