Conventa opens to emerging New Europe destinations

Conventa, the Europe exhibition for meetings, events and incentives, opened the exhibitor area and invited emerging destinations of New Europe to join Conventa meetings industry playground. After six years of growth and raising awareness about Southeast and Central Europe among meeting planners, Conventa will be the first tradeshow to represent on international market destinations of South, Central and Eastern Europe, also known as New Europe.
Organizers believe undiscovered, different and charming meetings destinations exist and have a great deal of hidden potential that needs to be presented to hosted buyers. New Europe contains a number of new convention centers, hotels and fresh creativity that puts it among the most desirable convention destinations.

“We are experiencing that a lot of our customers have already been to quite a few destinations around Europe and are now looking for something new and exciting. Thus we have to be one step ahead,” said Anne Lise Gangstad, project manager, Berg-Hansen.

New Europe can be associated with the fundamental professional values of the meetings industry, with youth, energy and creativity that emanate from the destinations represented at Conventa, making it a perfect addition to the show.

Although inviting new destinations to join the loyal exhibitors, Conventa is still staying true to its core by focusing on initial market in Southeast and Central Europe. The majority of the exhibition floor will remain reticent for the South East and Central European meeting providers.

Re-booking stands at an early stage, Conventa records 32 exhibitors from eight countries to date, a 52 percent growth compared to last year. Meeting providers from Austria showed especially strong interest after being pleasantly surprised by the success of the sixth Conventa, which hosted the largest number of international meeting planners in the history of the show that were of the highest quality.

Congress destinations were presented in the highest number so far at 12, and a record number of pre-arranged meetings, 3.158, was recorded by the organizers. Based on the results of Conventa 2014 exhibitor satisfaction survey, 67 percent of Conventa exhibitors would absolutely recommend this tradeshow to their meeting industry colleagues.

Preparations for the seventh Conventa are well under way and meeting planners can apply as early bird exhibitors by Jun. 1, while meeting planners can apply for program.

“Conventa is not just a two-day tradeshow; it is much more than that. It is a marketing campaign running 365 days per year,” said Miha Kovačič, director of Slovenian Convention Bureau and organizer of Conventa. “It is also an event that remains alert to how important it is to understand client needs, market developments and market trends. Year after year it delivers on its promises to hosted buyers and exhibitors at the only meetings show where they are treated equally. The results received from hosted buyers and exhibitors attending the shows bear testament to its continued success.”
