Cincinnati USA CVB welcomes new sales manager

catherine-plevaThe Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has named Catherine Pleva its new sales manager. In this role, Pleva will oversee meeting and convention bookings for existing and new clients, target new customer bases and develop additional business while acting as a face for the CVB at outside events, presentations and tours.

Pleva will target medical, pharmaceutical, agriculture and manufacturing market segments and she will report to Barrie Perks, vice president of sales and services for the CVB.

“As a long-time Cincinnati resident, I was drawn to the CVB by the opportunity to be part of a team and building up the region and showcasing the best of what the city has to offer,” said Pleva. “My relationships with key partners within the region and clients and prospects in outside markets will help the CVB continue to build on the positive momentum that’s been percolating for the past several years.”

With 15 years of sales and event experience, Pleva previously served as the sales and local marketing manager for Boi Na Braza Churrascaria, where she met the challenge of introducing a new restaurant concept to the Cincinnati market while coordinating private and corporate events of various sizes. Prior to that, Pleva worked for Clear Channel Communications at Local 12 as a new media account executive handling television event sponsorship sales.

Pleva earned a Bachelor of Science in Commercial Recreation with a specialization in marketing and public relations from Michigan State University. She also attended the Midwest Culinary Institute in Cincinnati.
