Canada’s top tradeshows: six through ten

Based on total square footage involved in the exhibition, the twice-yearly Alberta Gift Show ranks sixth among Canadian tradeshows and is organized by the Canadian Gift & Tableware Association. Held at the Edmonton Expo Centre, the final 2012 show is scheduled from Aug. 19 through Aug. 22 and features apparel, fashion accessories, home decorating, general gifts and gourmet food. The event is billed as “Western Canada’s Marketplace.” The event regularly attracts nearly 600 exhibitors and more than 12,000 attendees while occupying more than 165,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Alberta Gift Show

The PPPC National Convention and Tradeshow held annually in the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto is the nation’s biggest tradeshow for promotional products and ranks seventh on the list of largest tradeshows in Canada. Organized by the Promotional Products Professionals of Canada, the event draws nearly 500 exhibitors and more than 2,000 visitors to the 162,130-square-foot exposition. The next event is scheduled from Jan. 30 through Feb. 1, 2013, with additional days for setup and dismantling.

Landscape Ontario Congress.

Canada’s largest tradeshow featuring horticulture, lawn care and gardening, the Landscape Ontario Congress, celebrates its 40th event from Jan. 8 through Jan. 10, 2013, at the Toronto Congress Centre. Occupying the eighth position among top tradeshows in Canada and sponsored by the Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association, the annual event draws nearly 13,000 landscaping and horticultural professionals to the show’s more than 600 exhibits taking up nearly 145,000 square feet of space.

The ninth-largest tradeshow in Canada also could be its tastiest – the CRFA Show sponsored by the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association. Held annually at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto, the more than 141,000-square-foot event draws some 700 exhibitors and about 13,000 attendees looking to sample the best Canada has to offer by way of culinary delights and full-service dining. The next event is scheduled from March 3 through March 5, 2013.

Truck World

Truck World

Canada’s tenth-largest tradeshow just happens to be the nation’s largest show for truckers.

The annual Truck World was held from April 19 through April 21 at the International Centre in Toronto. The annual show features trucks, trailers and trucking equipment from Canadian and U.S. manufacturers and is organized by Newcom Business Media. Nearly 17,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors attend the event, which takes up more than 132,000 square feet of exhibit space.
