ARTGUILD/Avalon educates clients at INTERFACE 2010

Thinking Forward was the theme for the half-day educational program produced by New Jersey based ARTGUILD/Avalon.

Held at the Bridgeport Holiday Inn on September 8th, the program featured two expert speakers each of whom delivered an hour-and- a-half session.

James Michelson spoke on Cross Media Marketing. Michelson spoke about the growing mix of options available to the exhibitor. From the advance of social media options to direct mail, he emphasized using multiple tools in unison to get people to your exhibit and following through to make the sale. Exhibit managers also took away new ideas on how to maximize their tradeshow participation.

Susan Brauer’s presentation, titled Creating an Action Plan for Measurable Results, gave exhibit managers ideas on how to set measurable strategies into their tradeshow program.

During the program intermission, interested parties were invited to a twenty minute preview of a new tool for exhibit managers. The E-System is a proprietary program allowing maximum interaction and control for clients in coordinating their exhibit properties and programs.

Sponsors of the event included Zenith Labornet, Renaissance Management, Bohren’s Moving and Storage, Exhibit Express, Cargo Solutions, and CDI Europe.

The event also included a small vendor fair where a select number of industry suppliers showcased new product offerings and technology. During a series of breaks and intermissions, Laarhoven Design, Moss, Brumark Total Flooring Solutions and Optima Graphics mingled with those in attendance, educating them on some of the powerful tools used behind the finished exhibit program.

Karl Hornberger of Agilent Technologies, a maker of high-tech analytical computer systems, looks forward to attending the event every year.

“We do more than 400 tradeshows every year,” said Hornberger. “ARTGUILD/Avalon has been handling our program for more than twenty years. INTERFACE gives me interaction with the people behind my program. I was once a presenter at this event.”

Hornberger said that what caught his attention this year was their newly launched E-System program.

“It helps with speed and accuracy in communications and eliminates waste,” he said.

Many attendees came in the night before and networked at a cocktail hour sponsored by Eagle Management, followed by a dinner sponsored by Nth Degree.

The more than 100 in attendance included exhibit managers from a wide spectrum of industries including pharmaceutical, chemical, and electronics.

One of the goals of INTERFACE is to bring ARTGUILD/Avalon clients together in a comfortable and personal setting where collaboration can take place.

“We distribute information to our exhibit managers about industry trends, techniques, products and technologies,” said Doug Zegel, president of ARTGUILD, Inc. “We also give exhibit managers the chance to ‘interface’ with each other to exchange ideas and experiences.”

Zegel draws from his own experience when he talks about the positive benefits an event like this can have on exhibit managers.

“I thought my experiences were unique until I met other people who had the same experiences,” said Zegel. “It was very cathartic and educational to realize the things we go through, which are unique to our business, don’t just happen here. They happen in some way, shape or form everywhere.”

An annual event since 1997, INTERFACE also gives ARTGUILD/Avalon a chance to share useful information with prospects. Many in attendance commented that they will be implementing some of what they learned at right away.
